Biography

Greg is currently a student of music, sales, technology, Ki Principles and Ki-Aikido.

Greg began composing music at the age of 12 and won a piano performance scholarship to Furman University in Greenville, SC. While at Furman, Greg began studying Philosophy under David Shaner, a 7th degree blackbelt in Shin Shin Toitso Do Aikido and a student of its founder, Koichi Tohei. Greg switched his major from music to philosophy but continued to explore music in the Contemporary and Jazz idioms. Greg graduated from Furman with a degree in Philosophy.

Greg then attended the University of North Texas to continue his study in Jazz. At North Texas, Greg met his first Macintosh computer and it changed his life forever. After returning to South Carolina from Texas, Greg joined David Shaner in his work at Shaner & Associates, a performance development consulting firm. He served clients such as Duracell, Pepsico, Slazenger Golf, and Ryobi. He was also a founding member of the Carolina Ki Society, the first Dojo in South Carolina dedicated to Ki Training and Shin Shin Toitso Do Aikido.

After 2 1/2 years with Shaner & Associates, Greg began his career in technology sales with Datastream Systems, Inc. After helping Datastream go from $12 million private company to a $90 million public company, Greg was hired by Wonderware Corporation, now a division of Invensys PLC. Greg helped launch and run the Global OEM business. He was then put in charge of the Asset Management business at Invensys. Greg was also responsible for launching Solution Selling on a company wide basis for Wonderware Invensys.

Since Invensys, Greg has worked for Dovebid, Inc., Gardner Group Resources, his own company that specialized in sales process deployment and implementation, and Cognos Corporation. He currently works for VLTC. (Very Large Technology Company).

Greg currently trains in Ki-Aikido with John Gilmore Sensei, a student of Koichi Tohei Sensei and Calvin Tabata Sensei.

During this time Greg has produced 2 CDs. "Lifes Work" in 1990 and "I heard the Bells on Christmas Day" in 1996...both available on Itunes. You can still find him playing music with friends at various venues in Southern California.
